Uzma Hasan is a producer, cultural strategist, and board advisor who builds systems that resource ambitious creative work. She chairs the Bush Theatre, an acclaimed new writing venue whose mission is to “disrupt the canon,” where she has led through leadership transition and sector contraction. Uzma served as interim chief executive officer of Ffilm Cymru Wales, stabilizing the national film agency through a corporate restructure. As founder of Little House Productions, a VC-backed production company, she secured $400K in seed capital and delivered four feature films, including CREATURE—a genre-defying collaboration between Academy Award winner Asif Kapadia and Olivier Award winner Akram Khan.
She advises cultural institutions such as Doha Film Institute—where she led its film fund, deploying $25M in equity investments—and the International Film Festival Rotterdam, where she serves as consultant to the Displacement Film Fund alongside UNHCR and Cate Blanchett. Uzma made history as the first global majority board member of public broadcaster Channel 4, appointed by the British Prime Minister. She studied film and literature as a Kennedy Scholar at Harvard University. Uzma is a Fellow of the inaugural cohort of the Michael D. Eisner Arts & Culture Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
