Countries across the world are grappling with the same fundamental challenge: how to deliver quality healthcare to all people at a sustainable cost. The greatest threats to our collective health don’t stop at borders — they converge, compound, and demand a response no single country can deliver alone.
Alongside these challenges, biomedical innovations and technological breakthroughs hold extraordinary promise to make quality care more accessible, sustainable, and equitable. But technology alone doesn’t transform entrenched systems. Leaders do. And yet the leaders best positioned to change health’s future are still working in isolation — separated by disciplines, sectors, and borders — when collaboration has never mattered more.
This moment demands a new kind of healthcare leader: one who can work across borders and sectors, and who sees innovation and equity not as competing priorities, but as interconnected ones. The defining question is no longer whether transformation is possible, but how leaders will come together to pursue it with intention, care, and moral courage. Meeting this moment will require both the tools to act and a sustained commitment to use influence in ways that advance the well-being of all.
About the Fellowship
The Health Innovators Fellowship (HIF), a cornerstone program of the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute, convenes exceptional leaders from across the entire healthcare ecosystem — clinicians, technologists, policymakers, executives, and entrepreneurs — and transforms them through intensive values-based leadership development, peer collaboration, and a commitment to action.
Each Fellowship class brings together 20-22 leaders for a two-year experience including structured seminars under the guidance of Aspen Institute senior moderators and guided support between sessions. Fellows become part of a growing Fellowship community of more than 120+ leaders, and–equally important–join the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN), a vibrant community of more than 4,200 high-integrity peers across industries and 62 countries.

Introducing the Founding Cohort of the Health Innovators Accelerator
On September 16, 2026, the Health Innovators Fellowship introduced the Founding Cohort of the Health Innovators Accelerator (HIA). Over nine months, 23 senior leaders from across life sciences, digital health, payers, providers, policy, nonprofit, and investment will come together and collaborate to tackle some of health care’s most intractable problems together. HIA marks the first expansion of HIF’s platform beyond the Fellowship itself — extending the same rigor and standard of leadership to a wider community of health leaders working to build what’s next for health.
