The Health Innovators Accelerator convenes senior health care leaders from sectors that rarely collaborate to take on the field’s most intractable problems. Through Aspen’s seminar methodology and an applied Project Accelerator tied to real strategic challenges inside their organizations, participants create cross-sector collaborations that result in more positive outcomes for the patients and communities their organizations serve.
HIA marks the first expansion of the Health Innovators Fellowship’s platform beyond the Fellowship itself — extending the same rigor and standard of leadership to a wider community of health leaders working to build what’s next for health together.
About the Program
Over nine months, participants join 20-23 peers drawn from life sciences, digital health, payers, providers, policy, nonprofit and investment — sectors that rarely build together in health care. That mix is intentional. The most consequential challenges in health today — AI-driven care redesign, the convergence of life sciences and technology, the widening gap between policy and delivery, high quality accessible care for all — do not resolve inside a single organization or sector. HIA spans those boundaries, where success depends on collaboration beyond simple reporting lines and customer transactions.

Meet the Health Innovators Accelerator Founding Cohort
On September 16, 2026, the Health Innovators Fellowship introduced the Founding Cohort of the Health Innovators Accelerator. Over nine months, 23 senior leaders from across life sciences, digital health, payers, providers, policy, nonprofit, and investment will come together and collaborate to tackle some of health care’s most intractable problems together.
How It Works
Aspen Seminar Sessions
The Aspen Institute has been convening leaders around text for more than seventy-five years, and the method is deceptively simple: powerful readings, a round table, full confidentiality, and an Aspen-trained moderator whose job is to push past the polished version of the conversation and have real, honest dialogue. No slides. No lecture. Participants engage with texts that surface questions about values, power, and purpose that rarely get asked in the day-to-day.
Cross-Sector Perspectives
Each cohort is supported by a faculty of Health Innovators Fellows and external experts — C-suite leaders, founders, investors, regulators and policymakers — who bring deep knowledge into the room. Their more important job is to facilitate the conversation among participants. The most valuable insight in any session usually comes from the person sitting three seats away who solved a similar problem two years ago in a completely different context.
Project Accelerators
Each participant brings a real challenge or opportunity they’re facing now, puts it in front of the group, and tracks how their thinking evolves across all three sessions. Participants leave with something concrete for their organization — and with collaborations they didn’t see coming or forged in their day-to-day.
