–  The Aspen Institute Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation and JPMorgan Chase & Co. are pleased to announce the first cohort of grant recipients for the newly launched nonprofit capacity building program. Through a competitive application process, ten local nonprofit capacity building organizations were awarded a grant in support of continued growth or sustainability in key areas of organizational capacity. The organizations selected provide exceptional programs and services to local nonprofits and are critical to ensuring the health and vitality of communities across the nation.

“We believe that a robust nonprofit sector is essential for stronger communities and a more vibrant economy. JPMorgan Chase is pleased to support our first cohort of nonprofit capacity building grantees who are working to strengthen the operations and effectiveness of local nonprofit organizations,” said Naomi Camper, Head of the Office of Nonprofit Engagement at JPMorgan Chase. “We are committed to using our financial, intellectual, and human capital to help strengthen nonprofit organizations, and look forward to continue bringing visibility to the vital role of the nonprofit sector.”

Grant recipients will be officially announced at the Business Forum: Strengthening Nonprofits, Strengthening Communities to be held on November 15, 2016 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Knight Conference Center at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

The forum will gather 100 leaders from the business, philanthropic, and government sectors who share a commitment to building healthy, vibrant, stable communities where businesses and people can thrive. Sessions for the half-day forum will explore the importance of collaborative partnerships, highlight effective models and lessons learned, and foster cross-sector communication to advance stronger, more resilient nonprofit organizations.

Rowe Price Foundation; Lisa Mensah, Under Secretary for Rural Development, U.S. Department of Agriculture; Tynesia Boyea-Robinson, Chief Impact Officer, Living Cities; Tom Foley, Deputy Director/Access to Assets Program Director, World Institute on Disability; Elizabeth Connelly, Head of Healthcare, Higher Education and Not-For-Profit Banking, JPMorgan Chase & Co.; and  Jane Wales, Vice President, Philanthropy and Society, the Aspen Institute. Bill Shore, Co-Founder and CEO of Share Our Strength will be featured as the keynote speaker.
