Nishant Sharma is the Founder and Managing Partner of Kedaara Capital, one of India’s leading private equity firms, focused on buyouts and growth investments. Since co-founding Kedaara in 2011, Nishant has been at the forefront of shaping the firm’s distinctive strategy—combining deep operational engagement with long-term capital—to help build market-leading businesses across India. With over 19 years of experience spanning the full private equity lifecycle, Nishant has worked across sectors and investment stages, navigating both private and public markets. At Kedaara, he chairs the People Committee and serves on the Management, Investment, Portfolio, and LP Committees. Under his leadership, Kedaara has invested over USD 1.1 billion and scaled leading companies such as AU Small Finance Bank, Aavas Financiers, Vijaya Diagnostics, Vishal Mega Mart, Ami Lifesciences, Veritas Finance, Universal Nutriscience, ASG Eye Hospitals, Oasis Fertility, Oliva Skin, Perfios and Juspay. Nishant has also driven over USD 1.25 billion of liquidity across investments like Vishal Mega Mart, Au Small Finance Bank, Aavas Financiers, Vijaya Diagnostics and Ami Lifesciences, consistently delivering exceptional outcomes for stakeholders. Prior to founding Kedaara, Nishant was a senior leader at General Atlantic, a global growth equity leader, where he helped drive the firm’s India investments. Earlier in his career, he worked at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, focusing on development initiatives, and at McKinsey & Company as a management consultant. Nishant is an active member of the Mumbai chapter of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and was honored by The Economic Times among India’s “40 under Forty” business leaders. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Dual Degree (B.Tech & M.Tech) in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Nishant is a Fellow of the ninth class of the Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
