Sonia Kapadia is Deputy Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Equal Justice Initiative, a non-profit organization committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States through challenging racial and economic injustice. Sonia is a member of the executive leadership team and oversees partnerships, special projects, film, branding, marketing, narrative work, and communications. Prior to joining EJI, Sonia was an entrepreneur and executive in the food and beverage sector. She was the founder and CEO of Taste Savant, the Chief Marketing Officer of Gu Chocolate Desserts (acquired in 2010) and held numerous brand management positions at PepsiCo and FritoLay in the US and UK. Sonia is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Board of Advisors of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Harvard Business School.
