Welcoming New AEFI Advisors

June 2026

We are pleased to welcome six notable thought and practice leaders as new AEFI Advisors whose participation in this role will help deepen the intellectual and experiential resources focused on supporting the realization of AEFI’s new strategic plan (2026-2030).

AEFI Advisors are valued resources whose perspectives inform the development and implementation of AEFI’s research, publication, education, leadership convening, and collegial networking programs.

Advisors are drawn from the many professions and perspectives that are key to the success of AEFI’s mission — building and sustaining a collegial learning community of AEF leaders collaborating to advance the charitable impact of Artist-Endowed Foundations in their art stewardship and cultural philanthropy purposes.

Jane Wales, Aspen Institute Vice President and Director of the Institute’s Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation, of which AEFI is a key component, announced the appointment of LeRonn Brooks, Associate Curator, Modern and Contemporary Art, Getty Research Institute; Philip Hackney, Professor of Law, University of Pittsburgh School of Law; Diane Jean-Mary, Executive Director, Black Trustees Alliance for Art Museums; Asma Naeem, Dorothy Wagner Wallis Director, Baltimore Museum of Art; András Szántó, Principal, András Szántó LLC; and Olga Viso, Selig Family Chief Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs, Phoenix Art Museum.

Leah Levy, Executive Director of the Jay DeFeo Foundation and Honorary Chair, AEFI Advisors, welcomed her new colleagues, noting that this new role will build on their current involvements with individual Artist-Endowed Foundations as collaborators, advisors, governing body members, and scholars of the AEF learning community and its growing number of members.
