Public Engagement

Our Approach

The Public Engagement team fosters an ecosystem of global leaders and innovators across sectors to accelerate climate action. The team serves as a well-trusted bridge builder between sectors, regions, and perspectives in a uniquely Aspen way: sustaining dialogue across sectors and cultivating collaboration that endures long after the spotlight of its public convenings dim. By cultivating trust and collaboration that extend well beyond its stages, the team is strengthening leadership and driving significant, and sometimes unlikely, impacts through its global networks.

What We Do

The Public Engagement team plays a key role in driving partnerships, investment, inspiration, and measurable momentum across the energy and climate impact area through Aspen Ideas: Climate (AIC), Leaders of Tomorrow, and education and media-focused resources.

Initiatives in Action

Aspen Ideas: Climate (AIC)

Since 2022, Aspen Ideas: Climate (AIC) has become the premier solutions-oriented platform where global leaders convene – both behind closed doors and publicly – to advance bold, practical climate solutions. This multi-day event gathers thousands of policymakers, scientists, academics, business and NGO leaders, industry experts, artists, and emerging changemakers from around the world to explore solutions grounded in science, data, innovation, and investment. The result is more than conversation – it is a growing, action-oriented ecosystem.

Leaders of Tomorrow

We are committed to inspiring, equipping, and connecting the leaders shaping the next generation of climate impact. Over three years, the Future Leaders Climate Summit – held in partnership with Aspen Ideas: Climate in Miami Beach – created a dynamic platform for emerging leaders to engage deeply, build lasting relationships, and sharpen their leadership in the climate space.

Today, that momentum continues. Future Leaders remain connected through their well-established ecosystem, and the initiative’s next chapter has taken root in Chicago through a partnership with the Chicago Climate Corps (C3), a civic organization convening leaders aged 25–40 to accelerate regional climate action. Together, we are building and supporting a growing ecosystem of leaders through leadership development, resources, and spaces to grow each of their impacts.

This is Planet Ed

This Is Planet Ed is an initiative to unlock the power of education as a force for climate solutions to empower the rising generation to lead a sustainable and resilient future. We work across children’s media, early childhood, K-12 education, and higher education to help young people develop the understanding, knowledge, and skills needed to thrive in our changing climate.
