The Aspen Institute International Partners harness shared values and diverse perspectives to advance dialogue, ideas, and solutions across continents. Together, our network creates a multiplier effect: what begins as a local conversation often reverberates globally, shaping policies, communities, and leadership into the future.

The International Partners design programs relevant to global contexts, addressing themes such as International Affairs, Security, Technology, Education, Economic Policy, Trade, Leadership, and more. Alongside these shared themes, each Partner creates programs unique to their own interests and local needs.

Each year, the International Partners hold more than 500 events, reaching thousands globally. They are also leaders in thought, publishing highly respected magazines, podcasts, and policy analyses, including Aspen Central Europe’s Aspen Review, Aspen Italia’s Aspenia, the Aspen UK podcast, and Aspen Germany’s Spot On.

Ukraine

From Aspen Alumna to Nobel Peace Laureate

Aspen Institute Kyiv alumna Oleksandra Matviichuk is the Head of Ukraine’s Center for Civil Liberties and a Nobel Peace Laureate. She and her team have been documenting testimonies of Ukrainians about Russian war crimes and defending the rights of Ukrainian citizens for 11 years. In 2022, the Center for Civil Liberties received the Nobel Peace Prize, the first-ever in Ukraine. In an interview with Ukrainska Pravda, Oleksandra said: “After we received the Nobel Peace Prize, doors that had been closed opened for us. Previously, Ukrainian human rights defenders were invited only to specific venues where speeches were made, but where no decisions were taken. Now we can also attend closed meetings, where decisions are made.” She notes that she is frequently the only Ukrainian voice at these events. Matviichuk is an alumna of Aspen Institute Kyiv’s Program on Responsible Leadership.
