Julia Dickson is the Manager of the Scam Prevention Initiative at the Aspen Institute Financial Security Program. In this role, she works with public and private sector leaders to drive systems-level change that meaningfully reduces scam activity and safeguards Americans’ financial security.
Prior to joining Aspen FSP, Julia was an Associate Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) where she researched the evolving cyber threat landscape, including state-sponsored cyber activity and cybercrime. She also led CSIS’s work on scam centers, analyzing the technological advancements fueling the explosion of sophisticated scams, the enabling environments in Southeast Asia, and the role of scam centers in regional and international diplomacy.
Julia is a former Fulbright grantee to Osh, Kyrgyzstan and previously held research and communications roles at the Wilson Center, the Stimson Center, and the International Crisis Group. Julia holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies with a minor in French from the Johns Hopkins University, where she studied abroad in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
