Olivia Cleaves is Managing Director of Policy Programs at the Aspen Institute, where she oversees cross-program operations, board reporting, budget management, and strategic communications across a portfolio of approximately 25 policy programs. She works closely with the Interim EVP of Policy Programs on strengthening collaboration and alignment across program teams and organizational leadership.
Prior to this role, Olivia spent nearly a decade with the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN), most recently as Managing Director of Global Operations, where she managed a large team and global portfolio of leadership fellowship programs, including a $22M annual budget across all AGLN Fellowships. She also served in progressive leadership positions at the Institute, including Director of AGLN Programs and Assistant Director for Leadership Division Events & Operations, overseeing strategic planning for 15+ global convenings annually, including the Resnick Aspen Action Forum.
Before joining the Aspen Institute in 2017, Olivia served as Associate Director in the Obama White House Visitors Office, where she was part of a team executing President Obama’s directive to create the most open and accessible White House in history. Her team welcomed 3.7 million visitors over the course of the Obama Administration. Olivia also served as an Advance Associate, producing foreign and domestic diplomatic events for President Obama.
