Tommy Loper is Vice President for Network Strategy & Enterprise Development at the Aspen Institute, where he leads the organization’s network engagement and development strategy. An executive-level network strategist with deep nonprofit and ecosystem experience, his work is grounded in a mission of advancing both the art and science of convening and developing impactful networks.
At Aspen, Tommy is helping shape the Institute’s strategic vision with a focus on deepening interconnectedness across people, programs, partners, and platforms. His portfolio includes launching the Aspen Network Intelligence consulting service; leading development of new user tools such as the Aspen Passport; and catalyzing and supporting emergent innovation and collaboration across the organization’s many programs and “network of networks.”
Since joining Aspen in 2008, Tommy has launched signature initiatives including the Aspen Global Leadership Network, the Resnick Aspen Action Forum, and Weave: The Social Fabric Project, and previously served as Vice President of the Leadership Division. He serves on multiple advisory boards including roles as Moderator and judge with Moonshot Youth Leadership Platform and Space for Humanity.
Tommy is a graduate of American University’s School of International Service, with additional studies in Chile, Belgium, and at Georgetown University focused on nonprofit executive management. He is a frequent guest lecturer on designing for human behavior, an avid Trekkie, and explorer having visited over 40 countries.
