TechnologyDigital Equity Accelerator’s Advisory CouncilAs we prepare to welcome the Digital Equity Accelerator’s first-ever cohort, we are thrilled to introduce a phenomenal group of leaders who will serve as our inaugural Advisory Council. Comprising leaders at the forefront of advancing equity in education, healthcare, and economic opportunity across the digital space, this diverse network serves as a brain trust to ensure that the Accelerator centers on and serves the communities most impacted by the digital divide.
More families than ever are falling behind in an increasingly digital world, where innovation benefits only those with access. Most tech systems were built to serve majority groups. Communities who have historically experienced marginalization continue to be denied the representation, educational opportunities, and resources necessary to grow and thrive in the digital economy.
The Aspen Institute is collaborating with HP Inc. to advance nonprofits working on the frontlines to close the digital equity gap and ensure connection for all.
The Accelerator will supercharge organizations working to improve:
We’re especially focused on fueling innovations for marginalized and underserved populations, including: women and girls; ethnic, racial, and religious minority communities; aging populations; people with disabilities; and educators working with these groups.
Established nonprofits in the United States, India, and Morocco are invited to join a pilot, four-month, virtual program to scale their on-the-ground efforts to advance digital equity. Applications for the summer 2022 cohort closed on March 28.
Each participating organization will be awarded:
- 4 months of mentorship and training
- More than USD $100,000 cash grant
- Innovative technology from HP
- Post-program support
The Accelerator experience will include tailored mentorship, engagement with diverse leaders and experts, networking opportunities, and skills-building.
